KIEN DOAN CHI NGUYEN

Kien (Jonathan) Nguyen is a Vietnamese photographer who aspires to make the ordinary come alive, every day.

His love for the environment was sparked by camping at Juan De Fuca Park in Beautiful British Columbia, hiking to the breathtaking Glymur Waterfall of Iceland, and scuba diving over Thailand’s Phi Phi coral reefs.

He first picked up a camera in the summer of 2024 to capture the effects of climate change on the lives of people in the Mekong Delta. This experience inspired him to bring the human-nature connection to life in different communities worldwide.

Jonathan is pursuing a B.S. degree in Environmental Science as a Robertson Scholar at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is currently working on photography and research projects regarding science communication, environmental conservation, and renewable energy.
