Astungkara Way

“slow down, take notice”

Bali is one of the most popular travel destinations in the world, and this massive influx of tourism has put a heavy strain on the natural resources here. Dubbed the “El Camino” of Bali, the Astungkara Trails are an invitation to slow down, to take notice, to connect with nature and local Balinese communities that live in simple, sustainable ways, and to come up with holistic solutions to the environmental challenges that Bali is facing.

As you sleep on open bamboo platforms, enjoy locally sourced vegetarian food, and walk off the beaten track to discover Bali’s last wild areas, you gain an even deeper appreciation of the beautiful relationship between humans and nature. I was fortunate to participate in a 3-day hike adventure with Astungkara Way – an experience that changed my life.
